The Maine DBT Center

We are a collaboration of independently practicing, intensively trained DBT clinicians offering one of the only comprehensive DBT programs in Maine. FOR ADULTS ONLY: 21 AND OVER.

DESCRIPTION OF SERVICES

  • The comprehensive DBT program requires a commitment of one year to attend a DBT skills group and an individual session every week.
  • During this one year, clients see only 1 clinician, their DBT clinician, each week.
  • We do not offer stand-alone DBT skills groups.
  • Skills groups are 1.5 hours and consist of 2 facilitators and 8-10 clients of widely varying ages. All sessions are on a secure Zoom platform. See sidebar for group times available.
  • Individual sessions are 1 hour long with one of our intensively trained clinicians, mostly on telehealth. There is limited availability for in-person sessions in Saco or Portland. Times of individual sessions will be determined by you and your clinician. See sidebar for scheduling limitations.

“Thanks to the skills learned in DBT, I have been able to get off the couch, get off medication, and get on with building a better way of life for myself. I have learned how to be better able to take each day, being mindful of only what is important in any given moment. Going forward, I will continue to use my wise mind in situations of distress and interpersonal relations, especially.”
